Parkinson Group (Aust) conducts all company works in a manner to reduce our impact to the natural environment and regards environmental conservation to be of the utmost importance. All works are conducted to comply with the Environment Protection Act 1970 and all other relevant acts and requirements.
Parkinson Group (Aust) conducts its works to minimize the impact on the environment. These include but are not limited to, the location of turn-around locations for plant in regions of low environmental value along the roadside. Similar measures are undertaken for the location of plant and equipment storage location and the placement of stockpiles. The company also puts in place measures to minimize the damage to trees and other vegetation when completing works.
Chemicals and poisons required for some works are used in accordance with the manufacturer specifications, and any other relevant acts governing their use. These products are used sparingly and where possible, away from drainage, to prevent excess being washed off into the drainage system.
Silt traps and catch drains are installed to prevent erosion and loss of topsoil, and reduce the sediment load being washed from worksites into the drainage system.
Where possible recycled materials are used, when the recycled material is of comparable quality to the new product. Spoil removed from site is assessed for its reusable or recyclable potential.
All job sites are tidied upon completion of works to enhance the environment and limit the amount of disturbed areas, which may result in weed growth. Parkinson Group (Aust) machinery is also cleaned on a regular basis to prevent the spread of weed seeds or contaminated soil.
As a result of completing these measures Parkinson Group (Aust) leave the site in as good, if not better condition than when the works were commenced. |
